Sightseeing: Puente del Inca

Puente del Inca (Inca Bridge) is a natural rock bridge over the Rio Mendoza, created by mineral deposits. In 1925, a luxurious hotel and church were built on the hillside above the bridge. A massive rockslide in 1965 wiped out the hotel, but miraculously bypassed the church, which remained completely intact. They don't allow visitors to walk to the church and hotel ruins any more. The waters and rocks of the area are considered to have restorative and healing powers.

Items that have been dipped in clay from the river and left to harden, thus becoming pottery.
